Have you thought about how restaurant trends will change in the New Year? The restaurant culture is constantly focusing on being more affordable while providing a collaborative dining and intimate experience.

Social Media Storm on Food
Dining has become a staged event with a side of bragging rights. Meals are created first to promote on social media and then to serve at the respective restaurant. The power of social media is such it is generating praise even before customers have entered the restaurant and seen the dish with their own eyes. Social media makes it seem so real, you feel like you have tasted it many times before you make it to the restaurant. Social media will continue to make food seem impossibly close to its target audience.

Shorter Menus, Fewer Choices
Menus are shorter and restaurants are getting smaller. The concept of tapas has taken over. There’s plenty to eat, but it is all in smaller portions. And customers seem to love this concept of smaller settings and portions.

Casual Eating Styles
The traditional sit down restaurant style is slowly shrinking. Customers seem to enjoy eating in the open or eating while standing. There are plenty of alternative and newer food services which equal casual eating where you don’t have to make a big deal out of a sit down meal. Yes, customers do still appreciate sitting and quietly munching on lunch, but with hectic lifestyles in the 21st century this is not a luxury many people can afford. Delivery service, pop ups and vending are some of the more popular forms of food services that have been introduced in 2016.

The Beverage Boom
There’s a beverage boom in this day and age. Beverages are starting to make the headline act, instead of being the sideshow. Restaurants are bound to mix up food and drinks in 2016 with alcoholic and no-alcoholic beverage services to hit the market soon.

Trend of Asian Flavours
Asian markets have started to boom. In the past, Asian food equaled Japanese or Chinese restaurants, takeaways, cafes or diners. 2016 has seen a turn in Asian food with Korean, Vietnamese and even Indian food at the forefront of the food and service industry. Asian food has transformed into mainstream menus. And customers seem to absolutely enjoy indulging in various flavours coming from all corners of Asia.

Trend of Health Foods
Customers are also moving towards healthy food. Healthy eating and personalized diets is the trend these days. With a range of dieting options bombarding people, customers have become conscious about what they put inside their stomachs. Vegan food or paleo diets are slowly starting to become part of mainstream restaurants. Healthy food is one of the most popular trends to take over in 2016.

Food in Clothes
That’s right; we will soon be eating at retails stores. You will be shopping for fine clothing whilst indulging in some fine dining. The apparel retail industry is realizing people are ordering online completely missing out on the in-store experience and are looking for ways to change it. This is why coffee shops and restaurants are popping up at popular and leading retail stores.

We're worked with DB Hospitality on our second project now; particularly with restaurants I'm super satisfied with what results I'm getting from managing my team to overall operations.
