Interior Design Ideas For Restaurants: Top Trends In Town

August 15, 2019administratorGeneralNo comments

A lot of us dream of putting up our own restaurants. Whether we enjoy cooking or not, it is not uncommon to aspire on starting a business in the hospitality sector. In fact, according to the report issued by the Business Registration & Licensing (BRL) sector in the Department of Economic Development (DED)in Dubai, a total of 1,109 cafes and restaurants opened in 2018 alone. The number has continued to increase up to this day.

One of the few steps in opening a restaurant is choosing an interior design. There are several restaurant designs varying from minimalistic to over-the-top. Your restaurant design will depend on what theme and atmosphere you want your restaurant to carry. Read on as we list the top trends in interior designs for restaurants.

Going Green

There is no denying that most modern restaurant designs are geared towards a greener, more sustainable future. You may want to consider having a restaurant design that’s environment and community friendly.

The Urban Jungle

How often do you see a tree in the middle of the restaurant? This trend has continued to become increasingly popular, especially in developed countries. Mainly, to provide an escape from the busy life of the city, it has risen as a trend not just in big cities but in small communities as well. It is usually characterized by exotic wallpapers and an abundance of plants as decors throughout the restaurant. This gives off the vibe of being in a jungle but with a laid back atmosphere.

The Recycle-Chic

This trend might come similar to an industrial themed design. However, unlike most industrial designs, the Recycle-Chic trend utilizes randomly discarded items- think old stovetops, vintage telephones, old table tops, even recycled wallpapers and decor. In keeping up with the trend of sustainability, making use of recycled items offers a greener alternative.

Empowering the community

Customers are the main source of profit for any kind of business. Making them feel empowered can affect your sales drastically. Incorporating the “shared space”  interior design trend can help you engage your future customers in your restaurant. This design concept includes shared eating spaces, standing tables, and even a community board wherein guests can share their love for food. The goal of this concept is to create a social space for your guests.

The Minimalist

Minimalism seems to be a classic trend that never goes away. However, a minimalist restaurant design doesn’t necessarily mean having less decor that may limit the functionality of the space. The 2019 minimalism design concept means utilizing your restaurant space for functionality. The use of monochromatic tones is common. The goal is to focus on what is essential and practical, without compromising on the design aspect. Having abundant light is quintessential.

The Maximalist

Maximalism is a growing trend for interior designers this 2019. It involves the use of bold colors in a very straightforward way-  maximizing your restaurant space with the design elements you love but not straying from the path of being organized and clean. It’s all about looking at the pieces as a whole. This restaurant design is perfect for concept-based restaurants.

When choosing the interior design concept for your restaurant, keep in mind your vision. How do you want to come across? There is plenty of competition out there, and you would need to stand out. Consulting a restaurant adviser in Dubai is one way to making your restaurateur dreams into reality.

We're worked with DB Hospitality on our second project now; particularly with restaurants I'm super satisfied with what results I'm getting from managing my team to overall operations. I had to travel for a few months back home and I was really worried I wouldn't be able to manage my restaurant remotely - I looked upon a restaurant consultancy firm to be able to assist me with this and I definitely made the right choice with these guys. Super happy - keep it up.
